Product Photography for Christmas promotion

As a product photographer, I always like to think outside the box. When Suzanne at Aggie&I Soy Candles approached me to photograph their amazing candles for Christmas promotion, I knew that she wanted her products to be photographed against strong colours to compliment the colours of her brand.

I loved her packaging and had a clear vision for the colour scheme of the shoot. However, the use of commercial Christmas props, didn’t really appeal to me. I wanted the props and the look of the photos to be unique to Aggie&I. Random Christmas props were just to common for her lovely products. I therefore decided to create the props myself to achieve a more unique look.

The photo shoot lent itseld to having strong shadows for which I was using hard light, but that created a challenge for the gold Aggie&I logo. Lots of careful positioning of the products was required to make the gold stand out and to achieve the look I was seeking.

I am happy to say that the client loves these photos and I am very much looking forward to photographing for Aggie&I again in the near future.
