Food photography and food videography workshop
We had a request from a farming co-operative in Moy to provide a 4-day food photography workshop funded by Department of Agriculture. The business is in the process of building a social hub and are hoping to market their own meat and egg products by inviting guest chefs to cook their products at the social hub.
For this project, I worked with Kathryn Shaw who has photography and graphic design background but very little food photography experience.
I dedicated two days to photography and post-processing and two days to food videography and editing. As eggs are a major part of their business, we concentrated on the photography of eggs. It was beneficial that eggs are quicker to prepare and gave us more time for photography. We also decided to use this opportunity to create photographs that they were able to use for their marketing.
The photography workshop sessions covered aspects of lighting and composition particular to food photography, followed by sessions in Lightroom, Photoshop and Premier Pro to complete the photographs and videos.
